Free German Courses for Students and Academics in Bremen
We have over fifteen years of experience in the field of German courses and integration courses. So far, we have started 18 German intensive courses and more than 300 people have already taken advantage of an offer for a German intensive course. In our intensive courses you learn German, and in addition you acquire knowledge about the political system and the history of Germany.
With this additional offer, our intensive course is also officially recognised by the BAMF as an integration course. This means that you can receive the "Integration Certificate" after passing the course. With this certificate, you can prove that you have not only acquired German language skills, but also have social knowledge about Germany. This will be of use to you during a longer stay, when looking for a job in Germany or even when naturalising in Germany.

The registration process for your free German course in Bremen
You have the opportunity to attend a free German course / intensive course at the BSB Erwachsenenbildung GmbH. When you register with us, we check whether you meet the requirements for free participation.
In 95% of cases, the course fees are covered by the BAMF or the state of Bremen. We take care of the necessary application procedure.
Procedure:
After you have registered with us, we send the necessary application forms to the BAMF. The BAMF decides whether to approve or reject your application for participation in an integration course. This depends on the type of residence permit you have. If your application is approved in full by the BAMF, this means that the BAMF will cover the costs of the course completely. If your application is rejected by the BAMF, you would normally have to pay the course costs (440,00€ per 100 teaching units of 45 minutes each) yourself. However, we have another state funding option for students and academics. Thanks to this funding, our German courses have been free of charge for over 95% of the participants rejected by the BAMF.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Courses start approximately once a month.
All of our courses take place at our locations Herdentorswallstr. 93, 28195 Bremen or at Findorffstr. 14, 28215 Bremen.
As a rule, an intensive course runs 15 hours per week (teaching units (UE), divided over three weekdays, 5 UE per course day).
The whole course covers levels A1, A2 and B1, divided into 4 modules.
Module 1: A1
Module 2: A2
Module 3: B1.1
Module 4: B1.2
The modules do not always correspond exactly to the different levels, there are variations depending on the course.
To find out which entry level is right for you, there is a compulsory placement test. If the result is a higher entry level, you will enter a running course from the appropriate module. All courses start with module 1 (A1).
The target level to be reached is B1. This is the only level that is officially tested at the end of the course. There are no exams for levels A1 and A2.
The examination is a German test for immigrants, which we conduct as a licensee on behalf of TELC Language Tests. A telc certificate is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. A telc certificate is considered a meaningful proof of qualification.
The test "Leben in Deutschland" takes place subsequent to the module "Orientation Course". It consists of a test questionnaire with a total of 33 questions on politics and society in Germany.
There are a total of three course books and three workbooks for the whole course from A1 to B1. The cost of all books is approximately 60,00€ to 80,00€. These costs must be covered by the student.
